How to Make a QR Code for Your Facebook Page

How to Make a QR Code for Your Facebook Page

Unlike Instagram or TikTok, Facebook does not hand most people a ready-made QR code any more — the old Messenger codes were retired. The dependable way is to turn your Page, profile or group link into a QR code yourself, which also lets you brand it, track scans and change where it points. Here is how.

Does Facebook have its own QR code?

Not a general-purpose one. Facebook's scannable "Messenger codes" were discontinued, and there is no standard "download a QR for my Page" button in the app for most users. Meta Business Suite sometimes surfaces a QR inside ad or local-business flows, but making your own from the link works everywhere, on any phone camera, and is yours to brand and measure.

Step 1: get your Facebook link

Every Page, profile, group and event has a public URL:

  • Page: open the Page, and copy the address — ideally your custom one like facebook.com/YourBusiness.
  • Profile: use the "Copy link to profile" option from the menu.
  • Group or event: open it and copy the link to share.

Step 2: turn the link into a QR code

Paste that link into a generator and download the code. For anything printed, use a dynamic code: the printed square stays the same, but you can change where it points and see how many people scanned it. That means one code on a flyer can send people to your Page this month and an event next month, with no reprint. Create one free, paste your Facebook link, and download it.

Point it where the scan should go

A Facebook QR does not have to open your Page. Send it to a specific post, a group to join, an event to RSVP, or an m.me/ link that opens a Messenger chat with you. If you also use WhatsApp, see QR codes for WhatsApp.

Where to put it

  • Shop window and counter — turn local footfall into followers.
  • Packaging and flyers — see QR codes on packaging.
  • Events and posters — a scan-to-follow or scan-to-RSVP sign.
  • Your other platforms — cross-promote from Instagram or YouTube.

Frequently asked questions

Does Facebook still have Messenger codes?

No. The scannable Messenger codes were discontinued. To get a scannable code for Facebook today, make a QR code from your Page or profile URL.

How do I find my Facebook Page link?

Open your Page and copy the web address. If you have set a username, it looks like facebook.com/YourBusiness, which is cleaner than the long numeric URL.

Can I make a QR code that opens a Messenger chat?

Yes — use your m.me/YourBusiness link (or m.me/ plus your username) as the QR destination, and scanning opens a chat with you.

Can I track how many people scan my Facebook QR code?

Make it as a dynamic code and yes — you get scan counts by time and device. A plain static code cannot be tracked.

Can I change where my Facebook QR code points after printing?

Only if it is dynamic. A static code fixes the link forever; a dynamic one keeps the same printed square but lets you redirect it — from your Page to an event, for example.

Make a Facebook code you can brand, track and change — create a dynamic QR code free, no card needed.
